Session Description :

There is a responsibility to those of us who plan to travel outdoors and away from resources like emergency services. That responsibility could be to care for a sick or injured person, be it yourself or someone else, in remote areas or when emergency services are delayed.

This 2-day ASHI Wilderness First Aid course is for everyone who enjoys getting away; be it for a day hike or a week-long backpacking trip; the avid outdoor enthusiast; hunters; or anyone looking to be better prepared for emergencies. Also, if you plan to work for a wilderness camp, as a scout leader, ski patrol, or outdoor guide, this class is for you. It is designed for those who love getting outdoors; and as such, a portion of the course will be held outside.

In this fun, hands-on course, you’ll learn:
Prevention of injuries and illnesses;
How to assess a sick or injured person and how to effectively administer first aid;
How to use ordinary items, like a water bottle, to control bleeding;
Environmental hazards;
Evacuation decision making skills and much more.

Come join us for one of the best first aid classes you’ll ever attend; certainly, you’ll feel good about yourself as you leave with greater confidence in your ability to help others.

There are no prerequisites. However, we strongly recommend taking a CPR AED course prior to attending.

  • Space is limited to the first 20 paid registrations. You may cancel your registration at any time prior to the first day of class and receive a refund minus a non-refundable $20.00 fee.
